From search terms to sourcing tasks.

Supplier discovery → Requirements comparison → Evidence verification → Business contact

01

Buyers combine requirements in one question

Buyers can specify products, applications, markets, certifications and delivery needs in a single query. Google describes AI Mode as supporting more complex comparisons and exploration, with links to supporting websites. Business content therefore needs to address the full sourcing decision, beyond repeated product names.

02

Explain why the product fits this sourcing requirement

Our view: clear applications and limitations help buyers assess fit more effectively than broad claims of capability. Product pages should explain materials, processes, available inspection records and customization conditions, with evidence pages for verification. Do not combine certificates, capacity or lead times from different markets into an unqualified promise.

03

Separate brand mentions from source citations

A brand appearing in an answer and its website being cited are different observations. A cited page may simply supply background knowledge. Record the question, full response, brand placement, cited URLs and query time to understand where content contributes. One screenshot cannot establish sustained recommendations.

04

Build sound technical and content foundations

Google states that SEO fundamentals still apply to AI search features, with no additional special optimization requirements. First check that important pages are accessible, content is clear and internal links are complete. Then assess buyer-question coverage and factual consistency.
